Text Box: Times Journal Article       The Ider football team had struggled over the last decade, a stretch that included three straight 3-7 finishes from 2006-08.     But, 2009 was different. Ider went 11-2, claimed a share of the Class2A, Region 6 championship and earned playoff wins over Lanett and Lineville to reach the state quarterfinals for the first time, where the Hornets fell to Lamar County.     The playoff berth was Ider’s first since 1998, and the postseason wins  and league title were the first for the program since ‘96. The 11 victories were a single-season school record.
