- The Ider 7th & 8th Grade and JV Football teams
traveled to Fyffe, AL to play in their season opening Jamboree.
- Their opponent; the Collinsville Panthers. Both teams
show great promise, with impressive victories for both teams.
- The 7th & 8th Grade Team played a 6 min. quarter and
win 6 to 0, while the JV Team played an 8 min. quarter with a winning
score of 14 to 0.

The Hornets start the season with a decisive
victory against the Pisgah Eagles, 20 to 6. Ider is the
WQSB Team of the Week.

During halftime the Girls Softball Team
were presented their championships rings. Presenting the rings
were Senator Lowell Barron and Superintendent Charles Warren.
The Softball Team is the 2A state Champions of 2009. Way
to go girls!!!!

WQSB 105.1 came to present the Team
of the Week trophies to our great school The Ider Hornets
during today's Pep Rally. The Hornets were voted Team of the
Week for their outstanding defeat of the Pisgah Eagles last
week.

The Varsity traveled to Westbrook Christian for
their second game of the season. They had a hard fought victory
of 21 to 14.

- September 8, 2009
- The Ider Hornets hosts the
Geraldine Bulldogs for two very good games. The 7th &8th Grade
played a good game but could not stop the Bulldog from winning
13 to 8. The Ider JV Hornets come from behind during the third
quarter to win the game 18 to 8.

- Ider host Fyffe for the game
of the decade. This game was
one of the greatest games I have seen the Hornets play. The
Hornets may have lost 24 to 14, but Fyffe may have had one too
many people on the field. Even Footlocker would not hire this
one. Boys you played your greatest, do not let bad calls
discourage you.

victory of 39 to 7.

learned a great lesson tonight. The game is not over till the
finial buzzer.
- With only 2 min. and 35 sec left in the game Ider
came back to tie the game as the buzzer sounded to put the game
in overtime.
- The finial score was Section 28, Ider 26.

there to see TD plow the field, straight up the middle for a
